Jakarta. MINI has always provided a great selection of models to match the fun-loving characteristics of a typical MINI driver. Today MINI Indonesia adds to its selection of models with the launch of the new MINI Countryman and the new MINI Paceman. The launch takes place at the MINI Exhibition in the Atrium Plaza Senayan, from 31 October to 2 November 2014.

The new MINI Countryman is a new version of the very first MINI with four doors and five seats. Its profile, as an all-round talent offering versatile mobility and catering to an active lifestyle, has been further honed. The new MINI Countryman is the perfect match for those who enjoy adventure, travelling and outdoor activities – in style.

The new MINI Paceman, meanwhile, underscores its exceptional standing as a sporty, elegant individualist with fresh design details, increased driving performance figures, further optimised efficiency, and innovative equipment features. This compact 3-door model with coupé-like lines is the embodiment of a pioneering automobile concept, and offers a unique combination of driving fun together with an all-wheel drive system – the increasingly appealing MINI ALL4.

“The new MINI Hatchback was introduced in Indonesia in May this year, and received an extraordinary response from customers,” said Karen Lim, President Director BMW Group Indonesia. Based on MINI’s sales results in October, the new MINI makes up almost 33% of MINI models sold. “We are delighted with the very positive response given to the new MINI and now is the perfect time to unveil another two exciting new MINI models – the new MINI Countryman and the new MINI Paceman – which adds to the selection available to MINI fans in Indonesia,” added Karen.

The new MINI Countryman: versatility and a thrilling driving experience.

Striking accents underscore the distinctive interpretation of the hallmark MINI body design, while a clear emphasis on the specific dimensions and proportions translates into variable functionality and versatile athletic flair over all terrains. The characteristic hexagonal radiator grille in a new design reinforces the presence of the upright front section. Visual underride guard elements for the front and rear apron and side sills are now standard in conjunction with the MINI ALL4 Style package. The new MINI Countryman also comes with new light alloy wheels with reduced weight and optimised aerodynamics properties. It features new exterior paint finishes in Jungle Green metallic, Midnight Grey metallic and Starlight Blue metallic, and has additional customisation options which include contrasting colours for the roof and exterior mirror caps, bonnet stripes and Sport Stripes as well as a Piano Black Exterior - available for the first time.

The interior design of the new MINI Countryman showcases refined details, optimised acoustic comfort and reinforced premium characteristics. The interior features dark dials for road speed and engine speed and has five seats with exceptional variability – the rear seats can be shifted 13 centimetres longitudinally and the backrests are tilt-adjustable and foldable in a 40: 20: 40 split. Meanwhile, the luggage compartment volume can be increased from 350 to as much as 1 170 litres.

The new MINI Countryman boasts a 4-cylinder petrol engine with output of 184 hp in the new MINI Cooper S Countryman. Extended MINIMALISM technology, including improved aerodynamic properties, results in optimised driving performance and impressive fuel consumption figures. This new addition is equipped with a 6-speed Steptronic transmission.

The new MINI Countryman also offers outstanding safety with a top 5-star rating on the Euro NCAP crash test thanks to extensive standard equipment features in the areas of active and passive safety, now supplemented with LED daytime driving lights. The new MINI Cooper S Countryman also comes with the MINI Visual Boost, Sport Button, a sports leather steering wheel with shift paddle transmission, sport seats, and a multifunction steering wheel with cruise control.

Furthermore, it contains the extensive MINI Connected in-car infotainment program, unique functional diversity, and permanent expansion options with apps integrated in the automobile via smartphone. Typical MINI functions such as Mission Control, Dynamic Music, Driving Excitement and MINIMALISM Analyser all mean increased driving fun, while the online connection also enables the use of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and foursquare as well entertainment programs such as AUPEO! and TuneIn.

The new MINI Countryman will be available with two engine variants; the new MINI Cooper Countryman and the new MINI Cooper S Countryman. The turbocharged MINI Cooper S Countryman is offered as two variants: the MINI Cooper S Countryman ALL4 Style and the MINI Cooper S Countryman Red Hot.

The new MINI Paceman: An extravagant and powerfully expressive body design.

Dynamic proportions and powerfully modelled surfaces are the hallmark of the new MINI Paceman design style. This style clearly signals driving fun with the characteristic go-kart feeling and extended versatility. The front section has a powerful presence including hexagonal radiator grill contour. The vehicle features long doors with frameless windows in coupé style and a high-opening tailgate, while the roof sits virtually seamlessly on top of the car. Prominent is the elongated silhouette resulting from the flowing roof line and the tapering side window graphic. The new MINI Paceman also comes with the John Cooper Works aerodynamic kit and 18-inch light alloy wheels with reduced weight and optimised aerodynamic properties, as well as new exterior paint finishes such as Chili Red and Midnight Grey metallic.

There is a greater accentuation of sporty flair and premium characteristics in the interior of the new MINI Paceman. The interior flaunts a lounge-type design with four single seats and optimised acoustic comfort. It boasts newly designed chrome applications for the ventilation controls, the MINI Center Rail storage system, sports seats for the driver and front passenger, and individually foldable rear backrests - as a result of these, the luggage compartment volume can be expanded from 330 to up to 1 080 litres.

The new MINI Paceman offers extra driving fun and further optimised efficiency. Its 4-cylinder petrol engines and extended MINIMALISM technology, including optimised aerodynamic properties, reduce fuel consumption and emission levels. Output is rated at 184 hp in the new MINI Cooper S Paceman, and it comes with a 6-speed Steptronic transmission.

These sporty new additions retains MINI’s unique go-kart feeling thanks to high-quality suspension technology with McPherson spring struts and forged wishbones on the front axle, a multilink rear axle and electromechanical power steering including Servotronic. Other standout features in the new MINI Cooper S Paceman include the sports chassis, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) including Electronic Differential Lock Control.

The new MINI Cooper S Paceman is proud of its integrated safety concept featuring a crash-optimised body structure. Its extensive standard safety features now also include LED daytime driving lights. The protection offered to the vehicle’s passengers is at the same level as the MINI Countryman, which scored a top 5-star rating on the Euro NCAP crash test.

The new MINI Cooper S Paceman comes complete with the MINI Visual Boost Sport Button, a John Cooper Works sports leather steering wheel with shift paddles, a multifunction steering wheel with cruise control, and the Harman Kardon hi-fi speaker system. MINI Connected offers extensive smartphone integration in the vehicle and unique functional diversity with ongoing expansion based on apps. The current program includes functions exclusive to MINI such as Mission Control, Dynamic Music, Driving Excitement and MINIMALISM Analyser, while the online connection also allows the use of Facebook, Twitter, foursquare and entertainment programs such as AUPEO!, and TuneIn.

All MINI vehicles purchased from Maxindo come with MINI Service Inclusive, offering a five-year or up to 70,000 km free regular maintenance and a two-year warranty without mileage limitations.
